The concept was inspired by the Mounds bar, introduced by Peter Paul in 1936 in the United States, though Bounty is not domestically sold in the U.S., only available via imports. Early advertisements positioned it as a taste of tropical paradise, with 1970s TV ads featuring slogans like “The Bounty hunters — They came in search of paradise” and imagery of tropical beaches.
